Mokohinau Islands Spearfishing package:

Huge schools of pelagic fish, 25 kilo plus Kingfish, Abundant Crayfish, 25 metres plus visibility, a remote location resulting in more abundance of marine life.
Leave port between 6 and 7am with an estimated 10 hour charter (weather and client dependant).

Leave Omaha boat ramp between 6 and 7am with an estimated 1 hour trip to get to the island (weather dependent).  An estimated 10 hour charter (weather and client dependant).

Inquire about overnight packages - minimum numbers required.  Package includes departing Omaha between 6 and 7am on Saturday, accommodation where you can cook up a feed of your fresh catch, have a hot shower and a bed to rest your head.  Up early on Sunday for some Snapper snooping before departing back to Omaha at midday.

Little Barrier Island Spearfishing package:

Closer destination if you don't feel like traveling too far abroad.  Great diving.  Crayfish and pelagic fish schools in the summer time.  Great Kingi pinnacles for spearfishing.

Oceandiversity Spearfishing and Take Rules:

Targeted species include (but not limited to) Kingfish, Snapper, Scallops, Boar Fish, Kahawai, Butterfish, Trevally and Crayfish.
Oceandiversity have self-imposed limits to protect the underwater habitat in which they occupy:

  • 1 Kingfish per person
  • NO Red Moki
  • NO Bluefish
